Too often, palliative cancer patients still receive inappropriate care: dying, and yet another treatment.

Half of the palliative cancer patients still go through medical tests in the last month of their lives. A third of them will still be in the emergency department during this period. Such inappropriate care for palliative cancer patients is still too common, according to a study of the Socialist Mutuality. “It remains a taboo to say that a patient cannot be cured.”
